Councillor Patrick Codd was elected as Mayor for the 2011/2012 municipal year at Annual Council on the evening of Wednesday 11 May 2011and during his term in office wishes to promote the borough at every opportunity as a great place to live in or visit.
Councillor Codd is one of the best loved and most respect member of the Conservative Group on Kingston Council. A passionate local activist, has been a councillor for Coombe since 1994.
He was Deputy Leader for the Conservative Group from 2000 to 2010 and has also chaired various committees including: Planning and Development, Culture and Environment. He was Chair of Malden & Coombe Neighbourhood Committee for many years but has had to step down from this commitment in order to take on his new role as Mayor.
He has been Chairman of Maldens and Coombe Neighbourhood Committee, Deputy Leader of the Council, chairman of Planning and Development. Chairman of Development and Royal Park Neighbourhood Committees.
Churchwarden at St Luke’s Kingston, he has been a governor of Robin Hood Primary School since 1992.
Cllr Patrick Codd is a former Solider and long time Fleetstreet Showbiz Editor. He is an Author and continues to this day as a Freelance Journalist and contributor to national newspapers.
The Mayor's Charity Appeal this year will support two charities:
Born Toon Soon (The neo-natal unit at Kingston Hospital)
Macmillan Cancer Support (although this is a national charity the money raised will be used on local projects and grants)
